Sacramento Kings will play two pre-season games against Indiana Pacers in Mumbai, India on the 4th and 5th of October 2019.
Sacramento King’s Indian-American owner, Vivek Ranadive, who happens to be the first Indian majority owner of an NBA team, decided the game will be played in his native country.
Both teams will become the first two American professional sports franchises to play a match in India.
In a bid to expand the growth and reach of basketball, the NBA opened an office in Mumbai in 2011 and launched the NBA Academy India in Delhi in 2017.
