The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, says the military will do its best to improve the security situation in the Northwest Geopolitical Zone, especially, in Zamfara State.

He said this during a visit to troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, in the frontline of the ongoing fight against banditry activities in Zamfara State.

The Chief of Army Staff arrived in Zamfara State last Thursday evening.

The Army Chief took time out to visit the troops of operation Hadari Daji Joint Taskforce at Bakura, Talata Mafara, Maradun, Maru, Kaura Namoda, Shinkafi, and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, to see things for himself and to boost the morale of the troops in the theatre of operation.

He noted that the troops needed support, which the army high command will provide, to enable them to surmount the challenges being faced by the troops in the frontline.

Lieutenant General Yahaya applauded the efforts of the troops of Operation Hadari Daji Joint Taskforce at prosecuting the ongoing war against banditry activities in Zamfara State.

He said he was satisfied with what he has observed but decried that most of the security reports coming out of Zamfara State are being exaggerated.

The Chief of the Army Staff is being accompanied by the General Officer Commanding, GOC 8Division of the Nigerian Army, Sokoto, and Commander Joint Taskforce of Operation Hadari Daji, Major General Uwem Bassey, and other senior officers.
