A 51-year-old Peter Clark who travelled to Dubai on a business trip has been charged with the consumption of an illegal drug, which he consumed at home back in Las Vegas but was unfortunately found in his urine after he was hospitalized for pancreatitis.
Peter Clark’s urine sample tested positive for marijuana, so medical personnel alerted the police and detained him at the Al Barsha police station.
Although recreational marijuana is legal in Nevada, it is still an illegal construct in Dubai even with a medical alibi, therefore he faces a potential jail term as long as traces of the drugs are present in his bloodstream on arrival, even though he may be found innocent, he would most likely face a slow and expensive trial according to his attorney, Radha Stirling.
