Streaming appears to be the next big thing as major players have begun to channel their resources towards Africa and its most densely populated country Nigeria.

Deezer has not only offered to accept payments in Naira but has reduced its subscription fee to entice its customer base in Nigeria.

Spotify recently launched in most African Countries in a bid to capture the growing audience in the EMEA region. YouTube Music however came early to capture the budding millennial population on the continent.

On a similar note, Twitter Founder, Jack Dorsey recently acquired Tidal, another streaming service to compete with other streaming giants. The $297 million deal will see Jay Z as one of the board members and hopes to replicate the Cash App model for the world of music.
