Two bills HAVE scaled second reading on the floor of the house of representatives.
The Bill for an Act to Amend the Legislative powers and legislative act 2017; and for Related Matters was sponsored by the Speaker of the House of Reps, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the chief whip of the house Hon. Mohammed Tahir Monguno.
It seeks to amend critical aspects of the powers and nomenclature of the Nigerian Legislature to reflect international best practices.

Similarly, the House also passed for second reading, a Bill for an Act to Establish Rights for Victims of Crime to Provide for their Welfare and Compensation as well as provide for the strengthening of the Criminal Justice System; and for Related Matters.

The bill was sponsored by Hon. Henry Archibong from Akwa-Ibom state.
