The House of Representatives is pushing for increased export of Gum Arabic by the establishment of a research institute to source revenue.
A bill to that effect sponsored by the House Chief Whip Mohammed Tahir Monguno passed second reading during plenary on Thursday.
When established, the Gum Arabic research institute will enhance the cultivation of the Acacia tree which produces Gum Arabic, used in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, print, and textile industries
