Lawyer Arrested For Obstruction Of Justice in Zimbabwe

Thabani Mpofu, a Zimbabwean lawyer was arrested yesterday in Harare by the Zimbabwean police for reportedly obstructing justice.

Paul Nyathi, the police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner, disclosed that Mpofu was arrested for violating the section 184 of criminal law for obstructing justice.

Mpofu is reportedly facing two counts of the same offense and he will appear in court soon.

Nyathi disclosed that Mpofu is currently being detained at Rhodesville police station.

When approached, Miss. Beatrice Mtetwa, his lawyer, refused to give any comment yesterday.

Mpofu is the lawyer of Mr. Nelson Chamisa the leader of the movement for Democratic Change Alliance, a political party formed in 2017, to contrast the 2018 election in Zimbabwe.
