The Lagos State Government has announced a few minutes ago the launch of the neighbourhood markets which was proposed a few days away by the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu.
The governor made the announcement when directives were issued for all markets should be shut down. Since then the governor has put in place measures to fumigate the city. He more recently announced plans to enforce a curfew on Sunday evening to sanitize the city effectively.
This is in addition to the emergency food response the state has put in place to cater to the less privileged to be distributed to homes and to also encourage people to remain at home.
