The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has confirmed the bomb blast that occurred during the early hours of this morning.
According to the Governor, news reaching him revealed the cause of the bomb blast which was due to a convoy of vehicles carrying explosives heading towards the city’s capital.
The vehicle reportedly developed a fault in-transit about 2 km away from the Akure airport.
The state governor, however, thanked the state police for handling the situation well. Also, he disclosed that measures are currently underway to determine if there are any casualties due to the incident.
