ANC Mayor, Kgotso Khumalo has finally succumbed to pressure after several calls for his resignation since October in line with the ANC national executive committee on those facing criminal charges.
Kgotso Khumalo has been charged with fraud and corruption alongside two others for allegedly misappropriating 5 million South African Rand into personal accounts.
His sudden resignation will have the JB Marks Municipality Mayorless until a replacement is found.
The DA has however welcomed Khumalo’s resignation and expressed his disappointment that the former Mayor remains a councillor and remains on the payroll.
