Police in Kano have arrested two persons connected to the death of one Umar Muhammad, a staff of National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Kaduna State office.

The late Umar was allegedly stabbed in the neck by hoodlums while attempting to snatch his phone from him.

The incident which occurred under a bridge near the popular Kantin Kwari textile market in the state metropolis is one among many incidents of phone snatching in the state.

It was gathered that the deceased had struggled with the hoodlums who were trying to snatch his phone and in the process was stabbed by one of the hoodlums on the neck.

He was later confirmed dead at a state hospital.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ismail Dikko, said his men have arrested two persons connected to the incident.

The Commissioner said the Command has arrested more than 49 persons in the last month over phone snatching.

The rate of phone snatching especially in the Sabon Gari area and Kwari has become worrisome to residents of the state and calls for urgent attention.
