Jonathan Rea is the first rider to win four World Superbike championships in a row following an emphatic victory at Magny-Cours.

It was the Northern Irishman’s 13th win from 21 races this seasons and his fourth world title sees him draw level with Carl Fogarty at the top of the sport’s all-time titles list.

The Kawasaki Racing Team rider secured the title with five races to spare on the same track where he was crowned world champion last year.

He has equaled Troy Corser’s all-time record of 130 podiums and holds the record of the highest number of race wins at the Superbike World Championship.
