The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, has said that the solution to insecurity in every part of Nigeria is everybody’s business.

The Defence Chief said this in Yola at a one-day interactive meeting with retired military officers.

The Chief of Defence Staff’s visit to the 23 Armoured Brigade is to create an avenue for deliberation where retired military officers will submit ideas and suggestions on how to tackle insecurity in the northeast region.

The Chief of Defence Staff also reacted to the recent attack on the Nigeria Defence Academy Kaduna, where two officers were said to have been killed, and a senior officer was abducted.

The participants and the defence chief went into a closed-door deliberation.

A retired senior officer, Yakubu Usman, said the topics of discussion included the proliferation of small arms, security around the border areas, among others.

It is hoped that at the end of the deliberations, the inputs by the retired military officers will aid in the fight against insecurity in the region and the country in general.
