India's Delhi and Mumbai reopens from Lockdown

Delhi and Mumbai have started opening up partially in the wake of the devastating pandemic that left many dead. Experts have continued to advise caution considering less than 4% of its 1.4 billion population have been fully vaccinated.

Today, 101,000 new infections have been reported with 2,400 deaths, a step down from the 400,000 daily infection rates a few weeks back. Although estimates show that in total 349,000 deaths were recorded, experts believe the number is way more than that.

The train stations in Delhi have also resumed operations albeit at half capacity, while malls and cinemas in Mumbai will remain shut as shops and restaurants reopen.
