Suspected Fulani militias raided two villages, Atagjah and Kibori , in Atyap Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State, murdering eight people and injured others.
According to a community elder who asked to remain anonymous, suspected Fulani militias invaded Kibori (Asha Awuce) on Monday evening and began shooting sporadically, killing roughly five people and injuring many more.
According to him, the attackers set fire to residences and destroyed food during the onslaught.
Three people were murdered by suspected Fulani militias in Atagjeh village on Tuesday night, while three others were injured to various extents and are being treated at the hospital.
“The suspected Fulani militants’ attacks in Atyap Chiefdom have become routine,” the source claimed. Almost all of the villages that make up the Atyap Chiefdom have been assaulted, resulting in the loss of life and property of unthinkable scale.
“The worst condition is that the attacks by alleged Fulani militias are still going on, leaving the natives to carry their crosses with little or no security to shield them from the assailants who are hell-bent on carrying out their objective.”
Calls to the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, were unanswered at the time of writing this piece.
