Mrs. Asma’u Salisu Maku, the wife of the slain immigration officer in Nasarawa state, Salisu Usman Maku, was released by the gang of kidnappers after her family paid the sum of 20 million naira to set her free.
The grieving widow was kidnapped on July 14, in Gudi town, Akwanga council, with her husband who was murdered by the kidnappers.
Bola Lange, the Commissioner of Police, said that the police officers who were stationed at the nearby checkpoints have been arrested for failing to do their duty and stopping the kidnappers from committing the crime.
The younger sister, Sa’adatu, was also killed by the kidnappers.
