61 suspects paraded by police in Adamawa

Sixty-one crime suspects were paraded by the Adamawa state police on Monday.

Thirty-three of which were suspected kidnappers who were arrested in four local government areas of the state. 16 of the Crime suspects were arrested for inciting communal Clash.

Ten were arrested for suspected armed robbery. The remaining two suspects were arrested because of the possession of a human eye.

Olugbenga Adeyanju, the Commissioner of Police, said that the suspects were caught from July 1st to date, while they were being paraded at the Police Headquarters in Yola.

Adeyanju said that the sum of 5.4 million Naira was collected by the kidnappers’ suspects for ransom.

He said that two AK-47 rifles, two single barrel guns, and one G3 rifle were recovered from the suspects also, a rifle and 237 rounds of ammunition were also recovered.

Adeyanju said that the 16 suspects who were arrested for a communal clash were involved in the conflict in Guyuk LGA.

The 10 armed robbery suspects are reportedly Shula boys. A gang that terrorizes residents of Yola north, Yola south and Girei.

The two criminal suspects who were arrested in Ganye, where the producer of the human eye met with the person who offered  N500,000 for it.
