The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Baba Alkali, has ordered the redeployment of Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande, to Force Headquarters as CP in charge of ICT.
The redeployment was made known in a statement signed by the Force Secretary, AIG Hafiz Inuwa.
Akande was among the 17 Commissioners of Police redeployed to commands and formations across the country.
He resumed in Cross River State in January 2021 following the death of CP Abdulkadir Lanre Jimoh and has reduced the state of insecurity in Cross River to the barest minimum.
Newly promoted Police Commissioner, Aminu Alhassan, is to replace Akande as the CP. Their redeployment, according to the statement, was with immediate effect to their new posting.
