HIV positive Teacher defiles 14 Pupils in Niger State

A Human Immune Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, HIV/AIDS positive primary school teacher has been accused of defiling not less than 14 pupils under his care.

The accused teacher, Usman Galadima, is with the Central Primary School, Karabonde, in the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

Niger State Universal Basic Education Board has already suspended the accused teacher to give room for a thorough investigation by a committee headed by the Commissioner for Education, Hannatu Salihu.

The accused is being interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department.

The Committee is expected to travel to Borgu and investigate the matter within one week and come back with a report.

The Commissioner for Education, Hannatu Salihu, could not be reached for comments.

But the Police Public Relations Officer in Niger State, Deputy Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest of the suspect.

Abiodun explained that the investigation is ongoing.
