An anonymous bidder has emerged victorious from about 7600 others in a quest to join Jeff Bezos and two others in their sojourn into Space for the sum of $28 million.

The winner’s name will be posted on the company’s website in two weeks according to a video on the site.

The 11-minute ride alongside Jeff Bezos, his brother, Mark, and an unnamed astronaut is scheduled for July 20 on the New Shepard.

It will be the first time the spacecraft will be taking humans to space. The proceeds from the auction is set to go into Blue Origin’s foundation, Club for the Future, a foundation that hopes to inspire the future generations to pursue STEM related roles.

Jeff Bezos, after shedding his weight from Amazon seems overtly ready to tackle his biggest space competitor, SpaceX.
