Geraint Thomas medically cleared for Tour de France following crash

Geraint Thomas has been cleared by the medical team to participate at the Tour de France following the crash he had at the Tour de Suisse.

The 2018 Tour de France champion crashed his bike around 30 kilometers from the end of the stage, landing on his shoulder and face.

Thomas sustained cuts to his back, above his right eye and arm and abrasions on his shoulders before he was taking to the hospital for further assessment.

There were fears the Welshman could miss the Tour de France which is due to start within the next three weeks but the doctors have given him the green light to compete.

With Chris Froome out of the tourney due to multiple fractures from a crash last week, Geraint Thomas will lead Team Ineos charge for the Tour de France title.
