Gates Foundation divest apple and twitter stock

The trust of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is one of the largest in the world, have divested all their investment in Apple and Twitter in the first quarter of this year, prior to their divorce announcement.

As many as 1 million Apple shares were sold, while some 272,420 Twitter shares. Although the Trust declined to comment, experts believe that Apple’s stock underperformance may have played a huge part. The company’s shares dropped 8% but are up 2.7% now.

Twitter also shares a similar outlook whose shares slid from 17.5% to 14.4%. Following the less than optimal first-quarter report. Twitter’s shares were rebought by Cathie Wood’s ARK Investment Management

The Gates Foundation has now invested in Coupang, an e-commerce company in South Korea’s Seoul.
