Fuel Subsidy: Csos Knocks NLC For Failing Nigerians Over Suspended Strike Action

coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), Civil Society organizations, and critical stakeholders has faulted Nigeria Labour Congress failure for Nigerian masses over the suspended Nationwide planned strike action on the removal of fuel subsidy.

The groups stated this at the one-day town hall meeting with the theme “Entrenched corruption and the unsustainability of fuel subsidy regime and the Northern Standpoint in Arewa House Kaduna.

They said Nigeria spent 2.91 trillion naira on petrol subsidy between January and September 2022 and FG set aside 3. 36 trillion to be spent on subsidy until mid-2023 which is responsible for the country’s dwindling public finance.
