Rice Farmers in Nigeria have called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to open the country’s borders for food importation.

The farmers made the call at the dry season flag off exercise for 2020/2021 in Minna, the Niger State capital.

Speaking during the exercise, a rice farmer, Aminu Goronya, said that Nigeria has a vast fertile land, suitable for growing any type of crops in commercial quantity.

Aminu Goronya also said , the country is blessed with human resources that will ensure that the country attains food sufficiency.

Goronyo reiterates on the need for farm implements be given to farmers in good time to actualize the Federal Government’s desire of consuming what is grown in the country.
