Five Players pull out of French Open due to COVID-19

Five players have reportedly pulled out from the French Open qualifying tournament after two players and a coach tested positive for Coronavirus.

The announcement was made by the French open organizers on Sunday, stating that the directors have confirmed that two players taking part in the qualifying round have tested positive for coronavirus.

The statement further said those involved, will not compete in the qualifying tournament and will self-isolate for seven days. The qualifiers have been scheduled to begin later on Monday.

Although the names of the affected tennis players were not revealed, it has been reported that Damir Dzumhur has been withdrawn from the qualification round, after his coach Petar Popovi tested positive.

The French Open will kick off on September 27 to October 11, two weeks after the US Open in New York after it was postponed from its original May-June date.
