It appears the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, planned strike will go ahead next week as the meeting with the Federal Government has failed to reach an agreement.

While the Federal Government proposed some palliatives to cushion the effect of the hike in petrol pump price and electricity tariff hike, Organised Labour insisted that the increment must be reversed before any further deliberation on the matter.

On whether Organised Labour is aware that the National Industrial Court of Nigeria has issued a restraining order against the proposed strike, the TUC said it is not aware while the NLC bloofed off the question.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said the meeting with Organised Labour has been adjourned to 3 pm on Monday, September 28.
