Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sabo Nanono, has pledged the support of his ministry to the Open Government Partnership, OGP initiative of the Federal Government.

Nanono who disclosed this in Abuja during a working visit by the National Coordinator, SERVICOM, Nnenna Akajemeli, and her team said the Ministry will synergise with the SERVICOM to drive the process to promote the good governance initiative of President Muhammadu Buhari as enshrined in Executive Order 001.

On her part, Akajemeli said that the initiative presented a platform for co-operation, partnership, and collaboration between the Government as state actors and the civil society and the private sector as non-state actors that will bring immense developmental benefits to the country.

She noted that with the full commitment by key public sector bureaucrats, there will be development, reviews, and implementation of service standards at service windows that would help the initiative to fall in line with our national guidelines.

According to her, SERVICOM is strategised to working closely with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, MDAs through their Service Charters to drive continuous citizen-focused service improvements in Nigeria.

Akajemeli further pointed that the Federal Government’s commitment to the initiative would foster openness, transparency, accountability, inclusiveness, and co-operation in service delivered by the MDAs, adding that the process will translate to good governance.
