Facebook has finally revised its approach towards creating Libra, the cryptocurrency that is supposed to ‘change the financial world’.
Libra received a lot of criticisms from governments and regulators alike and as such has had obstacles after another in its path. The company has finally resolved to now create a consolidated digital platform incorporating digital versions of existing currencies including the dollar and Euro.
This new plan is expected to include Libra and launch sometime in September.
Still in partnership with Facebook to make this a success include Lyft, Spotify, Shopify after some others left in the heat of the opposition.
French President, Emmanuel Macron, had criticized the platform citing that it could threaten the sovereignty of governments while others wonder it could be used to encourage money laundering
