Panel of Inquiries

#ENDSARS has dramatically risen to the number one slot on the Twitter trend map after news of the Nigerian Police legal team suggested the Panel of Inquiries have not the legal power to hold inquiries or investigate the dealings of the Police.

Many youths have taken to the micro-blogging platform to express readiness to resume the protests should the 5 of 5 demands do not become a reality. This renewed vigour for protests comes at a very sensitive time for the nation as the government tries to grapple with dwindling economic resources, rising insecurity in the north, labour strikes, rising fuel prices, and a heightened sense of distrust in the ability to govern.

Amidst all of the chaos, news of the Lagos State Governor compensating families of security officers for those who lost their lives in the mayhem with the sum of 10 million and promotions by the IGP, Mohammed Adamu to increase the morale of Police Officers.

All through it all, the Minister of Information and Culture continues to maintain that there were no killings at the toll, and opening rebuking an investigative report by the Cable News Network which went on to confirm the claims by the youths that live ammunitions were shot at them as the government rebuilds with the aid of the Private sector.

It has not been reported as of this writing that any family of the END SARS victims, prior to the unfortunate incident on the 20th of October, 2020, or on the said date have been compensated or not.

Whatever happens from here on, will largely depend on how the current administration hopes to manage the multi-dimensional crisis and restore normalcy, if that is possible to a very ravaged country.
