Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, wants the Nigerian Army to intensify and expand strategies aimed at containing insecurity across the country.
Governor Emmanuel said this in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, at the First Commanding Officers Workshop 2021.
With the theme Repositioning the Nigeria Army to Defeat Contemporary Adversaries in a Joint Environment, Commanding Officers of Army Divisions in the southern part of Nigeria gathered to brainstorm on how to win the war against insecurity in the country, and Governor Emmanuel, represented by his Deputy, Moses Ekpo, tasked them on new strategies.
Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, who pointed out the timeliness of the workshop, charged the officers to rise to the challenge of containing insecurity in the country.
Earlier, the General Officer Commanding 6 Division, Maj Gen Sani Mohammed, stated that the workshop was designed to boost their capacity.
The workshop which will last for a week is hosted by the 6 Division.
