Electoral Act: PDP NASS Caucus Demands Electronic Transfer of Vote

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Assembly caucus has backed Southern Governors and kicked against the removal of electronic transfer of votes in the proposed amendment of the Electoral Act.

On the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB, the group also rejected the 3% equity share for host communities passed by the Senate and aligned with 5% passed by the House of Representatives.

The Caucus also backed the position of the Southern Governors that state governors must be duly informed before any security action can be undertaken in their state.

The PDP lawmakers supported the idea of State Police; asking that all deductions from the Police Trust Fund must be distributed to all states to ensure effective security of lives and property.
