The Association of Resident Doctors at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, has commenced an indefinite strike.

The Chairman of the Association of Resident Doctors in the hospital, Dr. Niyi Olaoye, disclosed this while speaking to reporters in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, on Wednesday.

Olaoye said resident doctors in Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital have not received their full salary since 2018, hence the need to embark on the strike.

He lamented that the reduction in the subvention to the institution by the state government has also contributed to the non-payment of salary to doctors in the last two months.

In his reaction, the Chief Managing Director of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Prof Kayode Olabanji, said the institution is meeting with relevant stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the industrial dispute.
