The Federal Government has declared Monday 10th October as Public Holiday to mark this year’s Eid-il-Mawlud Celebration in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
The minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola,made this announcement on behalf of the federal government and thanked all Muslims for being present this year, both at home and in the Diaspora.
The minister in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Shuaib Belgore, admonished Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, patience, tolerance and perseverance which are deep spiritual virtues and which the Holy Prophet Muhammad exemplified, adding that doing so would guarantee peace, security, and harmony in the country”.
