Egypt reports 857 new coronavirus cases,

According to the Health Ministry’s daily coronavirus update, Egypt verified 857 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, increasing the total number of infections to 314,116 since the coronavirus outbreak in February 2020.

Egypt’s Health Ministry also said that 39 more coronavirus-related deaths were officially documented in the last 24 hours across the country, increasing the overall number of deaths from the virus to 17,765.

419 individuals have been discharged after overcoming the illness, increasing the overall number of recoveries to 264,764. Egypt has gotten 60 million doses of various vaccines so far, with a goal of vaccinating 40 million individuals.

The World Health Organization, reports that Egypt has vaccinated residents with approximately 20.1 million vaccine doses since the beginning of its vaccination program in January.

While the authorities resolved to retain in-person lessons despite tightened coronavirus safeguards, 24 million students in schools and 3 million others in universities began the new academic year earlier this week, vaccination is now required for all adults in the education sector, including teachers, other personnel, and university students, who are above the age of 18.

According to Health Minister Hala Zayed, who spoke at a press conference early last week, up to 70-80 percent of school personnel across the country have already got the vaccine.

According to Zayed, vaccination rates among university employees are above 90 percent, while immunization rates among university students are about 35 percent.
