Kidnapped Chibok Women and Children escape their captors in Nigeria

Six women and nine children who were kidnapped in Nigeria a few months ago have managed to free themselves and escape from their captors. The 15 hostages were taken from farming towns in Borno's Chibok area in separate districts.

Six women and nine children who were kidnapped in Nigeria a few months ago have managed to free themselves and escape from their captors. The 15 hostages were taken from farming towns in Borno’s Chibok area in separate districts.

The women and children trekked for six days before they got to safety. Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno state, has called for an end to the war going on in the region.

“I want to appeal to all Borno lives and Nigerians to continue to pray so that we can have absolute peace. As a government, we are working with security agencies and other stakeholders to enhance that, that our other daughters return home”, said the governor.

It was clearly seen that the kidnappers fled to a well-known shelter for Islamic state-linked extremists. Boko Haram, an extremist organization active in the region in 2014 kidnapped around 200 schoolgirls.
