Well, an NFT of the dog has broken the existing NFT record sale by going for $4 million to a certain @pleasrdaowho purchased the Meme with Ethereum. NFT stands for Non-fungible Token, another Blockchain application that has recently taken centrestage.

Doge, which was coined from the Homestar Runner Cartoon has a track record of winning awards, in 2019, it won the award for the most iconic memes in internet history, it also won the Meme of the Decade in 2019.

The Meme was auctioned by Atsuko Sato, the owner of Kabosu, leading to a bidding war before @pleasrdao emerged victorious!
