On Monday, a US drugmaker, Moderna, revealed that its Covid-19 vaccine is guaranteed to 95% effective based on an early look of results gotten from research.
The outcome offered the first scientific evidence that vaccines would help prevent the Covid-19 virus and cure other diseases, the Chief Executive of Moderna, Stéphane Bancel said.
This announcement was made just a week before drug makers Pfizer and German biotechnology firm BioNTech developed an empirical Covid 19 vaccine that prevented over 90% coronavirus infections after a test study with thousands of volunteers.
Scientists all over the world are working relentlessly to develop an effective solution for the virus, which has infected more than 50 million people, killing millions in infected countries.
According to reports, the Covid-19 test was carried out on 30,000 people in the U.S., with half of them being administered two doses of vaccines, four weeks apart.
The other half had dummy injections as the study was based on the 95 per cent who developed the virus symptoms.
