Adamawa State Governor, Fintiri presents 2021 Appropriation Bill

The Adamawa State Government has imposed a lockdown throughout the state.

It will last for a period of 14 days and will come into effect from midnight of Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

The action is in an effort to prevent the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in a statement through his Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, said that though the decision is painful, it has become a necessary measure.

The lockdown also comes with restrictions on inter state travel.

International borders with Cameroon are also to remain shut during this period.

The ban also affects tricycle, taxis, and bus operators throughout the state.

Social activities involving night clubs and sit-outs are suspended.

Markets are also restricted, except for those selling food items, pharmaceuticals and petrol filling stations, while banks are to provide skeletal services.

The governor regrets that the directive to workers on grade levels 1-14 to stay at home was not adhered to in the first instance.

He said the government is now left with no option than to impose the lockdown in the overall interest of the people, as Coronavirus continues to spread.
