The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has paraded a 21-year-old suspected kidnapper and armed robber who attempted suicide while in its custody in Taraba State.

The suspect along with four others was paraded after receiving medical attention.

The suspects were arrested at different locations in the Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the state.

The NSCDC in Taraba State said it beamed its searchlight on Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the state because of its proximity to many States in the Northeast and the North Central.

The corps said surveillance by its team led to a harvest of several suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, and cattle rustlers.

One of the suspects who was arrested by officers in the Jep-jep community attempted suicide when he tried to slash his throat with a sharp object while in custody.

The suspects said they were herdsmen and were also into farming but drifted into crime due to economic hardship.

The Corps also exhibited some stolen items recovered from suspected thieves who are still at large in Jalingo, the state capital.
