The Police in Niger State have said that they will arrest any commercial motorcycle or tricycle operator found beyond the hours of six in the morning and nine in the evening.

The measure is part of efforts to enforce law and order.

The enforcement is one of the resolutions of an emergency State Security Council meeting in Minna, Niger State capital.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shamwulu Dan Mamman, stressed that youth gangsterism, lawlessness, and killings in Minna must stop.

Mamman also said the operation of all unapproved motor parks within Minna must stop.

For some days, some youths in some areas in Minna, including Limawa, Anguwar Daji, Anguwar Sarki, and Ogbomosho road, as well as uphill areas have been breaching the peaceful coexistence of the people.

The police have assured members of the public that they will work in synergy with other security agencies to embark on aggressive raids of identified criminal hideouts within the Minna metropolis to restore peace and orderliness.
