CISLAC decries arrest of News Digest’s journalists

The Civil Society Advocacy and Legislative Centre, CISLAC, has appealed to the military to desist from excessive show of force in parts of the country in the build up to next month’s general elections as it is capable of affecting the outcome of the polls.

The Civil Society Group canvassed this position during the state of the nation address in Abuja on Monday.
CISLAC also insisted that the Independent National Electoral Commission must live up to expectations by ensuring a level playing field for all candidates and political parties.

The group also used the forum to restate its commitment to a free, credible, and fair electoral contest.
