Kaduna State Government has declared President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ayuba Wabba, and other labour leaders wanted following mass protests on the streets of the state capital.

Wabba and others are accused of economic sabotage and attacks on public infrastructure under the Miscellaneous Offences Act.

Governor Nasir El Rufai in a tweet says, “Anyone that knows where he is hiding should send a message to @MOJKaduna“ and receive” handsome reward!”

Meanwhile, NLC has continued with protests on the streets of Kaduna against alleged anti-labour practices of Governor Nasir El-Rufai administration for the second day. Labour insists that the State Government must respect the rights of workers and put an end to the mass sack of state and local government employees.

In a related development, electricity workers have threatened nationwide power outage if there is any attempt to restore supply in Kaduna State while labour continues with mass protest. General Secretary of the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, and NLC Deputy President, Joe Ajaero says there was an attempt over the night to restore power supply to Kaduna State that has been cut off as part of the mass protest.
