Bauchi State Government has called on the Christian community in the state to dispel any controversy regarding the Covid-19 vaccines.

Governor Bala Mohammed made the call during the flag-off of the second dose of Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccines exercise.

Some weeks after receiving the Covid-19 vaccines, the Bauchi State Governor alongside other top government officials as well as relevant stakeholders in the state, received the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccines, as recommended by the medical experts.

While appreciating the development partners, health workers, and traditional leaders over their synergy in the fight against the pandemic, Governor Mohammed also expressed his dismay over the non-compliance shown by the Christian community in the state in accepting the vaccines.

The representative of the World Health Organization, Dr. Ahmed Khedr, said with the advent of the Covid-19 vaccines, the rate of the outbreak of the virus has drastically reduced in the state.

He called on the people to equally accept the second dose as it has no side effects.

Though the state has zero Covid-19 cases, the Chairman, Task Force on Covid-19, who is also the Deputy Governor, Baba Tela, enjoined the people of the state to continue to exercise the laid down Nigeria Centre for Disease Control protocols to ensure a Covid-19-free state.
