AGF Malami fails to testify against magu

The AGF, Abubakar Malami, has in a letter disclosed plans not to testify because of the privileges of his office. He had earlier disclosed two weeks away that, if invited, he would be elated to testify as reported by The Punch Newspapers.

Executive Director of GICN, Global Integrity Crusade Network, Barrister Edward Omaga, at a press conference in Abuja, had explained that it is needless for the AGF to appear before the panel because the panel has gathered evidence which is enough to do justice in its report.

Omaga added that should the minister appear as a witness before the panel, it will compromise his constitutional duties as the Attorney General and lead to a conflict of interest.

The then Acting EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu was suspended on grounds of some missing recovered funds by the agency. As many as 40 individuals have testified before the panel.
