Following the violence in Lamurde Local Government Area on Thursday, May 14 as a result of the fight between Hausas and Chobos which allegedly led to the death of some residents in the area.

Although no authority as confirmed casualties. Adamawa’s State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri announced an imperative 24-hour curfew in this area.

According to a signed statement by Humwashi Wonosikou, the Governor’s Press Secretary, the curfew is a response to the unfortunate May 14 incident in the area. The Governor had visited Lamurde Local Government Area on Friday evening.

This, however, didn’t stop the attacks and fights after he left. As gathered, despite security agencies present in these areas, attacks continue once the security personnel is not looking.

The Governor ordered security agencies around the area to see to the mandatory compliance to the curfew by residents. He also admonished residents to not feed and promote rumour but report relevant information to the security agencies.
