Abductors free 8 people in Ekiti state

Police in Ekiti State have confirmed the release of the eight persons abducted on Tuesday evening in Itapaji-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Sunday Abutu, in a statement made available to reporters in the state, said the abductees have regained their freedom from their abductors.

Another source quoted that armed men who seized six people, three men, and three women from their private home at Itapaji-Ekiti early this week have released the captives.

A ransom was paid after desperate community efforts that saved the victims from impending harm.

A traditional chief in the community who does not wish to be named called for the release of Chief Ilesanmi Adepoju picked by soldiers and was said to have been taken to Omuo-Ekiti Army base.
