250 Cows set to be auctioned off by Amotekun!

The Ondo State Chapter of Amotekun has, after seizing 250 cows that destroyed a 300- hectare of farmland in the Ipogun area of Ilara and Owena Dan of the Ifedore Local Government, disclosed what will become of the confiscated cattle.

Although two herders were caught for the mass destruction of various crops such as cocoyam, cassava, plantain and maize, some others managed to escape.

The state commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye disclosed that although the Amotekun Corps will not be pursuing compensation for the farmers, cows that have been arrested will now be auctioned off after some court proceedings.

“We will charge them to court and auction the cows. That is the position of the state government and the Amotekun Corps as from now,” he added.

The Miyetti Allah State Chairman has disclosed that the body is willing to compensate the farmers and cooperate with the state government. Recall that in the not so distant past, the Ondo State Governor had called for the exit of all herders from the state’s forest reserves.
