Akuapem Poloo, an actress and model, who went viral for a controversial photoshoot with her son has been sentenced to 3-month imprisonment for posing nude with her son on his 7th birthday anniversary mid last year.
She captioned the photo: “I am naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me lying somewhere don’t pass by but see me as your mum who brought you to life.”
She was charged with the publication of obscene material, engaging in violence that undermines privacy and integrity, or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.
She reportedly broke down in tears when the sentence was read in an Accra court house. Poloo had posted the pictures on her instagram page.
Although she argued that she was not completely naked in court, because she covered her innermost parts and the picture was taken in her house, eventually pleaded guilty to all three charges and now faces three months in confinement.
