A mobile app by a former presidential candidate, Adamu Garba, with intentions to replace Twitter has been removed from the Google PlayStore. The app which violated some of Google Play’s policies was removed unceremoniously.

The app is expected to remain delisted until the violating condition has been redressed. Adamu Garba who had in the past filed a lawsuit against the Twitter founder, retraced his steps without any prompts from any corners.

He also welcomed the move of the Nigerian government to ban Twitter and tried to use thatas an opportunity to draw attention to his newly debuted app, a move that backfired with huge consequences.

Rumours of plagiarising the Spotify app terms and conditions were raised from a Twitter user before the app was taken down

The app also got many bad reviews from Nigerians who claimed not much thought was given towards the creation of the app and that if worse ratings were possible, it would be befitting for the app.

Adamu Garba has in a statement denied violating any of PlayStore’s policies, but only wants to update the app, a move that can happen without ever having to delist the existing version, leaves all and sundry to wonder if the app will ever be re-listed.
