Zamfara: Bandits attack Kaura Namoda community, kill Polytechnic staff

At least two staff of Kaura Namoda Polytechnic have been killed when suspected bandits attacked the low-cost area of the Kaura Namoda community.

The suspected bandits were said to have stormed the low-cost area at about 3 am on Wednesday.

They were said to have jumped into the residence of Usama Nazifi, a 39-year-old man, asking him to open his door, to which he refused and resorted to shouting for help.

According to an eyewitness, Nazifi thought the unknown gunmen had left the area and went to meet his neighbour, Bashir Muhammad, and were engaged in discussions outside, when the bandits opened fire, killing both of them.

Nazifi’s neighbour, Bashir Muhammad, a 39-Year-old who was also killed in the incident, has been buried.

The Rector of the Kaura Namoda Federal Polytechnic, Yahaya Bande, described the dastardly act as barbaric and unfortunate.

The Zamfara State Police spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, confirmed the incident.

He, however, said it was armed robbers that invaded the low-cost area and killed the two persons.

He said the Police has despatched some officers and men to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The Police image maker said that investigation has also commenced unraveling the circumstance and those behind the dastardly act.
